YANGKANG, Aug 6: The Changlang district administration on Monday conducted its third jan sunwai sammelan here in remote Yatdam circle.
The health department distributed free medicines to 63 patients, and collected malaria blood slides. It also registered three babies under the Dulari Kanya Scheme.
Ration cards were renewed and forms for new ration cards, KYC, etc, were distributed, and job cards and income certificates were issued. The forests & environment department distributed free saplings, and the departments of fisheries, agriculture and horticulture distributed fingerlings, seeds and bio-chemicals. The veterinary department carried out deworming of livestock.
LED bulbs and fans were made available on subsidized rates by the APEDA, and the PHED distributed field testing kits.
Earlier in the day, Parliamentary Secretary Tesam Pongte and Deputy Commissioner Wayong Khimhun flagged off the ‘Swachh Survekshan Gramin rath’ amidst a huge gathering.
In Yealiang in Lohit district, over 2000 people thronged the venue for easy facilitation of government services provided by the district administration.
Animal Husbandry Minister Dr Mohesh Chai said the launching of jan sunwai sammelan in all corners of the state was made possible only by the efforts of the chief minister. He lauded the efforts of the district administration, HoDs and officials for leaving no stone unturned in making the programme a success.
DC Karma Leki urged the public to participate enthusiastically in the programme.
Earlier, the programme began with a plantation drive to send a message on mitigating the rising greenhouse effect. (DIPROs)
