ITANAGAR, Aug 24: Rural Development Minister Alo Libang on Friday launched the Free Trade LPG (FTL) scheme for selling 5-kg LPG cylinders under the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) for the convenience of the consumers in the state.
Libang said 5-kg LPGs would be beneficial for the people of the rural areas where there are no gas agencies.
“Needy persons can avail this opportunity with less procedure and with only their proofs of identity,” he said.
Food & Civil Supply Secretary Jockey Angu while interacting with the retailers said “We have to serve the consumers with outmost sincerity for their satisfaction.”
Guwahati IOC branch chief general manager Uttiya Bhattacharyya expressed happiness over the launch of the scheme in Arunachal Pradesh through the IOC retail outlets.
Initially, the FTLs, with the brand name ‘Indane’, would be available at 16 IOC retail outlets in 15 districts, and it would be made available at all the IOC retail outlets of the state in a phased manner.
The total cost of the FTLs, including pressure regulator, will be Rs 1524.20, Bhattacharya said.
