Committee supports ILP checking drive

KOLORIANG, Aug 25: The Koloriang Bazaar Welfare Committee has said it would extend support to the AAPSU’s ‘Operation Clean Drive’ against illegal migrants who do not have inner line permits (ILP).
The committee, however, requested the union’s members not to harass non-APSTs who have valid documents during the drive.
It said it would submit a representation to the Kurung Kumey district administration to issue ILPs only to outsiders with valid documents, and urged the administration and the police to conduct ILP checks on a weekly basis.
The committee said its members would carry out ILP checking drive within its business jurisdiction in order to ensure the safety and security of the business community in the district. It clarified that there is no communal intention behind the drive.
