ITANAGAR, Aug 28: The Yego-Banggo Students’ Union in a complaint letter to the chief secretary on Tuesday alleged gross misappropriation of funds in the Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Services (APSTS) in Lower Siang district, and urged him to take strict action against the officials involved.
The union claimed that the passengers of the APSTS buses travelling from Likabali to Gensi in Lower Siang district had to pay for refuelling the vehicle in addition to their bus fares as the APSTS had a huge amount of dues pending at every fuel depot in the area and none of the depots was willing to provide fuel for the bus.
It questioned how the APSTS authority could claim to be the highest revenue provider in the state when it cannot even get fuel to operate its buses.
