‘APCC allows movement of vehicles ferrying officials and players’

NAHARLAGUN, Sep 9: The state level U-17 Subroto Cup football tournament (boys & girls) will be kicked off at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium here on 10 September at 9.30 am.
The inaugural match will be held in the girls’ category between Kra-Daadi and Changlang at RG Stadium, while the rest of the matches will be played at the playgrounds of Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy (SLSA), the 1st APPBn, Chimpu, and Rajiv Gandhi Polytechnic College here, informed the secondary education directorate’s Youth Welfare Officer L Sokun Singh.
District level winners from all the 23 districts, barring the girls’ team from Tawang, have confirmed their participation, he said.
The final of the girls’ category will be held on 15 September, the day when the boys’ matches will begin, while the final of the boys’ category will be held on 20 September.
Both the finals will be held at the SLSA playground.
Meanwhile, Singh said the APCC has allowed the movement of vehicles ferrying the officials and players of the tournament on restricted route during the bandh period.
“APCC has responded positively to the request, particularly in the interest of women empowerment and women sports,” Singh said.
