ITANAGAR, Sep 11: The women & child development directorate on Tuesday facilitated frontline functionaries of the women & child development (WCD) and health & family welfare departments to witness Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Direct samvaad’ programme by webcasting the event live at the Dorjee Khandu State Convention Centre here.
The PM interacted with frontline functionaries like anganwadi workers, ANMs and supervisors of the two departments across India.
Attending the programme here, WCD Commissioner Gamli Padu briefed the participants on the ongoing National Nutrition Month and Poshan Abhiyaan.
WCD Director TP Loyi described the event as “a great opportunity for all the participants to learn from the success stories from other states.” She advised the health functionaries to implement good practices in the anganwadi centres.
There are 6225 anganwadi workers and an equal number of helpers under 98 ICDS projects in Arunachal Pradesh, besides 3862 ASHA workers and 1049 ANMs.
The National Informatics Centre provided the webcasting facilities.
Similar programmes were also organized in all the districts.
Besides the frontline workers, DDs (ICDS), DMOs, MOs, and CDPOs attended the programme here.
