ITANAGAR, Oct 1: The Naharlagun branch manager of the Indian Bank, Tado Jibaying, reportedly committed suicide at the Hotel Greenland here on Monday night.
Capital SP M Harsha Vardhan informed that 30-year-old Jibaying had checked into the hotel at around 10.15 am on Monday, and was later found hanging from the ceiling fan in his room.
His body was discovered when the hotel’s staff became suspicious and looked into the room through a ventilator. Their suspicion had been aroused as Jibaying had not asked even for water since entering the room in the morning.
The police was informed about the incident at around 7.45 pm, the SP said.
The deceased was a resident of Jully near here. Postmortem on his body will be conducted on Tuesday, the SP said.
He informed that no suicide note was found at the scene of the incident. Jibaying’s body is currently kept at the RKM Hospital morgue.
A case of unnatural death has been registered and inquest proceedings are being conducted, informed the SP.
