ITANAGAR, Oct 7: A three-day spiritual initiation programme organised by the RK Mission Hospital here in association with the Naharlagun-based Vivekananda Study Circle got underway here on Sunday.
Ramakrishna Math & Mission vice-president Swami Shivamayanandaji Maharaj, who is conducting the programme, said initiation into the Ramakrishna Mission “is not a membership or a rite of passage to any group or cult. Initiation means letting go of the superficiality of our aspirations, and choosing freely and with clear thinking the path of sincere sadhana with the aim of realizing the eternal truths spoken about in our scriptures.”
The flow of divine power and grace in the Ramakrishna Math and Mission is maintained by an unbroken lineage of gurus. The president and vice-president of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission worldwide maintain this spiritual tradition through the process of mantra diksha or initiation, he said.
