ITANAGAR, Nov 2: Chief Secretary Satya Gopal has asked the power department to achieve the target of providing electricity connection to all un-electrified households in the state by December.
During a meeting here on Thursday, the CS reviewed the progress made under the Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana in the state.
Power Commissioner GS Meena, Rural Electrification Corporation Power Distribution Co Ltd (RECPDCL) executive director GS Bhati, state nodal officer Ogom Moyong, and all the chief engineers, superintending engineers and executive engineers were present at the meeting.
Expressing concern over the pace of delivery of materials by the RECPDCL, Gopal urged the executive director to deliver all the materials by 15 November.
He also directed the power department to ensure that “100 percent household kits are installed by 15 December.”
It was decided during the meeting that the materials required for the higher altitude and difficult terrains would be transported within a week’s time (from the date of delivery of the materials) by the RECPDCL to the base stores.
“As on date, 20 percent of the materials have been delivered at the pre-designated base stores by RECPDCL and the rest are in transit and will be delivered by the end of November,” Bhati said.
