MUKTO, Nov 4: Dirang-based ICAR-National Research Centre on Yak in collaboration with the animal husbandry & veterinary department conducted a field day programme on ‘maintenance of optimum productivity in yaks during winter’ at Mukto village in Tawang district on Sunday.
Sixty yak cattle hybrid farmers from Mukto, Jang, Sherjang and Gomkheleng area were briefed about the scientific feeding, breeding, reproduction and health management of yak and yak cattle hybrids. The farmers were also educated on hygienic maintenance of oneself and the environment, and techniques for clean milk production.
Senior scientist Dr D Medhi, principal scientist Dr V Paul, ICAR-Yak Centre scientist Dr TP Singh and senior veterinary officer Dr Thopten Tashi were the resource persons.
