State’s second women police station opens in Seppa

SEPPA, Nov 4: The state’s second women police station was inaugurated here in East Kameng district by Home Minister Kumar Waii on Sunday, informed PHQ in a release.
The first all-women police station, in Itanagar, started functioning in 2013.
Speaking on the occasion, Waii advised the police to perform their duties with utmost sincerity, and emphasized the need to maintain good police-public relations for effective policing against crimes.
DGP SBK Singh emphasized the importance of women police stations in dealing specifically with crimes against women. He exhorted the police to work for the betterment of the society while maintaining discipline and integrity.
MLA Tapuk Taku also spoke.
East Kameng DC Gaurav Singh Rajawat distributed 250 winter jackets for the district’s police personnel.
Among others, DIG (West) Issac Pertin and East Kameng SP Vikas Kumar were present on the occasion.
The PHQ informed that the third women police station, in Lohit HQ Tezu, will come up soon.
