BRO labourers go on hunger strike

NEW DELHI, Nov 23: Members of the BRO Labours Union, North East Region, sat on a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar here on 22 November in support of their charter of 27 demands.
Some 100 members from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand took part in the hunger strike seeking implementation of labour law, social security act, maternity leave, and right to education.
The labourers’ union said they would start the second phase of their strike if their demands are not met.
