Org says PRC issue will have ‘repercussions’

ITANAGAR, Dec 11: The Students United Movement of All Arunachal (SUMAA) on Tuesday said there would be strong repercussions from the SUMAA team if permanent resident certificates (PRC) are issued to non-APSTs in the state.
In a press release, the SUMAA condemned Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein’s statement on granting PRCs to non-APSTs of Lekang constituency, who include Sonowals, Kacharis, Moran Deoris and Gorkhas.
It said the claims made by the people of Lekang area were baseless, and that
it “will get stiff resistance from every corner of Arunachal Pradesh.”
The SUMAA also urged the pubic, the civil society groups and student communities of the Khamtis and Singphos “to rise from their deep slumber and raise their voice against the wrong policies of the government.”
