KHONSA, Dec 13: The Tirap district disaster management authority conducted a mock exercise on ‘earthquake and fire accident’ at the market area here on Thursday.
Conducted under the supervision of the 12 Bn NDRF, headed by its Second-in-Command Arun Deogam, the mock drill was participated in by staffs of the district administration, the police, the fire service and the health department, besides NCC students of the Khonsa GHSS and members of the market committee.
Commending the NDRF team for their effort, DC PN Thungon advised the people of the district to remain alert during the winter season as most cases of fire accidents are reported during the season.
The NDRF battalion earlier imparted search-and-rescue training to police personnel, students and general public in other six circles of the district. (DIPRO)
