PASIGHAT, Jan 12: The Indian Army stationed at the Sigar military station here in East Siang district flagged off 79 youths to take part in the army recruitment rally which got underway at the Likabali military station in Lower Siang district on Friday.
The youths, from East Siang and other eastern districts of the state, were earlier given a month-long training by the army jawans and officials here. Local NGO AAUN assisted the army in imparting pre-recruitment training to the unemployed youths.
Army sources said about 26 local youths who received training at the Sigar military station have already been absorbed in the Indian Army.
