I would like to share my views regarding the U-18 3rd state level Hangpan Dada memorial trophy(boys & girls) for volleyball and football which was recently conducted at Tezu,Lohit.
From this year onwards, a new rule was made,according to which only U-18 sportsperson(boys & girls) can participate in this memorial tournament.
But to my utmost surprise, I found that almost 70-80% were over aged. sportsmen and sportswomen who had participated in 1st CM trophy which was held 5-6 years ago were playing.
How is it possible?
As per the norms of the tournament Aadhaar card,Birth certicate/matriculation certificate and medical test was mandatory for all those participant to prove their age but it was only written in paper.
No such proceedings were done to verify their age,most importantly medical test.
Therefore, I request the sports department to overcome such loopholes in near future.
Mere conducting the memorial trophy is not enough. Strict procedure should be followed so that young boys and girls can compete with each other.
