LONGO, Jan 31: Borduria-Bogapani MLA Wanglin Lowangdong laid the foundation stone for a water treatment plant (WTP) here in Tirap district on Thursday.
In his address, Lowangdong, who is also adviser to CM, said that the WTP will be built at an estimated Rs 450 lakh.
“It is a central-government project, under the RIDF to provide and augment the existing water supply system to circle headquarters, Longo and adjoining villages, and got approval after long persuasion,” he informed.
He further said establishment of circle HQ at Longo is being delayed due to land acquisition problem among the villagers of Longo.
“The land acquisition problem has been solved and construction of headquarters infrastructure is likely to be complete soon,” Lowangdong added.
