ROING, Mar 18: The Dibang Multipurpose Project (DMP) of the NHPC provided scholarships to 209 students of Lower Dibang Valley district under its corporate social responsibility and sustainable development programmes in an event held here in Lower Dibang Valley on Monday.
The scholarship of Rs 5000 each was given to meritorious students of the Adi and Idu communities.
Speaking on the occasion, DMP chief general manager Biswajit Basu said that “educating children is essential for the development of society and encouragement towards education is the social responsibility of everyone, including corporate groups.”
Further, he assured that such programmes will be held in the future so that more children could benefit from it.
Members of community-based organizations representing both Adi and Idu communities also appreciated the efforts made by the NHPC.
