ITANAGAR, Apr 4: Governor BD Mishra and acting CM Pema Khandu have in separate messages extended greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Mopin festival of the Galo community.
The governor expressed hope that the festivity would spread love, peace and communal harmony among all the tribes of the state.
“On this joyous occasion, I join my Galo brethren in offering our prayers to Anyi Pinku Pinte to bestow each one of us with her choicest blessings,” he said.
Khandu in his message expressed similar sentiments, and lauded the Galos for safeguarding their rich cultural heritage and for being a “churning ground for luminaries of the state.”
Offering prayers to Ane Mopin for a prosperous life ahead, Khandu emphasized the need to preserve the distinct cultural identities and languages of the state’s indigenous communities. (Raj Bhavan and CMO)
