ITANAGAR, Apr 4: The National People’s Party (NPP) on Thursday said it will extend support to Tapir Gao, the BJP’s MP candidate from Arunachal Pradesh’ eastern parliamentary constituency.
The party informed in press release that it has not put up any candidate from the eastern parliamentary constituency and has decided to support Gao’s candidature.
The NPP’s Khyoda Apik is contesting from the Arunachal West parliamentary constituency.
Further, state NPP president Gicho Kabak said although the BJP and the NPP have no pre-poll alliance in Arunachal, there would be a post-poll alliance for forming the government under the North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA).
The BJP and the NPP have coalition governments in Meghalaya, Manipur and Nagaland under the NEDA.
