Omuk Aje to participate in INIOK Championship-2019

PASIGHAT, Jul 31: Omuk Aje from Pasighat, East Siang district is going to participate in the 10th Independence National and International Open Karate (INIOK) Championship-2019, slated to be held in Vadodara, Gujarat from 10 to 11 August.
The INIOK championship will be an ultimate fighting championship (UFC) with mixed martial arts.
The winners of the championship could win a prize amount of Rs 30 lakhs.
Aje is a member of the Mixed Martial Arts Federation of Arunachal (MMAFA), which has been affiliated with the Mixed Martial Arts Federation of India.
He has also participated in the mixed martial arts competition in Chennai last year.
Moreover, the MMAFA has selected him as training instructor (MMA) of the state team which will be taking part in an event in Bangalore next month.
MMAFA manager Anang Tayeng said, “The federation has selected Aje as its chief coach and V Taram as chief technical director to promote mixed martial arts in the state.
The federation aims at promoting mixed martial arts in the state and to provide training and practice facilities to budding players on these arts.
The federation has also taken the decision to organize training and competitions on mixed martial arts to encourage youths in the sports, he informed.
