Freedom has a high cost
Lives given, the ultimate loss,
That cost, they willingly give,
So freedom can continue to live.
Let’s rejoice in happiness
And indulge in celebration;
Saluting the ones who made it possible.
Singing in their admiration,
Who made India stand high and mighty;
Let’s make them our inspiration.
Today we come together,
Be the cause of unity,
Make it another beautiful day;
Fight against corruption,
Unfurl the flag of one nation.
