Discrepancies in seat allotment

Dear Editor,
I would like to draw the attention of our state government towards the allotment of MBBS seats by the central government.
The MBBS aspirants of our state have been shown malicious injustice by the union health & family welfare department by not allotting even one MBBS seat to the state, on the mere pretext of the state having its own medical college, whereas other states have been showered with abundant MBBS seats.
Nagaland has 40 MBBS seats, while Meghalaya has 50 central MBBS seats.
Other states, like Tripura and Sikkim, didn’t receive MBBS seats from the Centre, but they have two medical colleges each with 100 seats intake capacities. Mizoram has one college, with 100 seats intake capacity. However, our state has one college with only 32 (ST) and 18 (GN) intake capacity.
I genuinely feel that this is an injustice by the central government towards our state. This action by the central government will be the reason for there being fewer doctors in our state.
Hence, through this letter I earnestly appeal to Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Education Minister Taba Tadir to look into the matter immediately.
Sincerely,
Aspirant
