The Kurung Kumey district unit of the All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) has done a commendable job by repairing the teachers’ quarters at the government higher secondary school in Koloriang. The quarters were reportedly in a bad shape, with leaky roofs, making it tough for the teachers to stay there. This kind of noble act will inspire others to follow the same path. Also, it’s time people voluntarily made such kind of intervention without waiting for government fund. It may not be possible for the government to fund every development projects.
Therefore the citizens will have to voluntarily come out and perform their duties. If the people can raise money to construct religious structures, they surely can raise money to repair schools, hospitals and other essential infrastructures. In Arunachal Pradesh, the citizens expect the government to intervene in every little thing. They forget their own duty and blame the government over even petty issues. This attitude has made the people less accountable, and they always wash their hands off their responsibilities. However, it is heartening to know that there are still some people who are ready to shoulder social responsibilities without seeking any help from the government. It is time every citizen of the state took a pledge to voluntarily extend every possible support to the government to take the state forward.
