LONGDING, Sep 27: The health & family welfare department, the police and the ICDS department on Friday jointly organized a ‘health mela’ at the community health centre here.
Awareness generation activities were organized to sensitize the public to the harmful effects of worm infestation, its causes, and preventives measures. Albendazole tablets and Vitamin A syrup were provided to the frontline health workers for further distribution among the children.
A special health camp for police personnel and their families and an awareness programme under the National Nutrition Month were also organized.
Longding SP BR Reddy, DMO Dr N Ngemu, ICDS Deputy Director H Bangsia, MO (in-charge) Dr Wangnai Wangsu, supervisors, anganwadi workers, ASHAs and others attended the programmes. (DIPRO)
