Security advisor calls on RGU VC, holds consultative meet on academic collab

RONO HILLS, Mar 17: The security advisor to the government of Arunachal Pradesh, Major General Suresh Chandra Mohanty (AVSM) called upon Rajiv Gandhi University Vice Chancellor Prof Saket Kushwaha here on Wednesday to discuss possible collaborative academic work.

Prof Kushwaha emphasized on the need for promoting interdisciplinary research and educating youth on national and state important issues, while Major General Mohanty stressed on the need to generate awareness among the youth about their state, culture, topography, political processes and social environment.

The security advisor further assured necessary logistic help to the university teachers in this endeavour.

In the meeting, Pro-Vice- Chancellor Prof Amitava Mitra, Registrar Dr N T Rikam, National Security Studies Head Prof PK Panigrahi, Department of Anthropology Head Prof Sarit Kumar Chaudhuri, Prof Simon Jon of the Arunachal Institute of Tribal Studies and Department of Social Work Head Dr Kaushalendra Pratap Singh proposed several measures and suggestions for collaboration and youth engagement under the categories of research, publication and outreach and extension programmes.
