ZIRO, 6 May: The Lower Subansiri district water and sanitation mission (DWSM) in a meeting held here on Thursday finalized the district’s action plan under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).
The members present also approved the annual action plan for 2021-22 and 2022-2023 under the PHE&WS division here. An amount of Rs 5,522.28 lakhs, covering 221 villages and 3,914 households, was approved for further submission to the government.
It was also decided that the ZPMs along with the GPCs shall verify all the schemes under the JJM and issue NOCs. It is mandatory for the ZPMs concerned to issue work completion report before payment is made to the contractors.
The JJM focuses on integrated demand and supply of water at the local level, including creation of local infrastructure for source sustainability like rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge and management of household wastewater for reuse.
The meeting was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Somcha Lowang and attended by, among others, ZPC Likha Sangchhore and DWSM members. (DIPRO)
