ITANAGAR, 15 May: Reacting to the news headlined ‘Power shutdown for maintenance’, which was carried in the 15 May issue of this daily, SO & PSC SE (E) Nangkong Perme on Saturday clarified that the shutdown of the Pasighat-Roing 132 kv transmission line from 17 May “is not a shutdown for normal maintenance. It is, in fact, a providential restoration work compelled by the fury of nature.”
The SE said that it is because of the Covid-19 situation prevailing in the state that the restoration work has to be deferred by three days and split into three phases, “taking risk against nature.”
“Unless restored and if left to nature’s mercy, the eastern part of the state may have to face blackout for months together until the end of monsoon,” the SE said.
