ITANAGAR, 21 May: Rajya Sabha member Nabam Rebia on Friday donated important items like hand gloves, facemasks, N95 and surgical masks and sanitizers to the Papum Pare police. SP Neelam Nega received the items on behalf of the police.
Later, speaking to the press, Rebia said that, at this juncture, “everyone should extend support in whatever capacity to frontline and healthcare workers.” He also said that the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu is effectively handling the Covid-19 situation in the state.
The MP stressed the need for proper checking along the foothill areas. “The Covid-19 situation in Assam is turning grim. Therefore, being immediate neighbours, strict checking should be done along the Assam-Arunachal boundary, so that movement of people is regulated,” said Rebia.
The SP expressed gratitude to Rebia for the support.
“The support extended by the MP will definitely help us. We will distribute the items to all the police officials of the district,” Nega said.
