Task force reviews flagship schemes under health dept in LDV

ROING, 22 Dec: The Lower Dibang Valley District Task Force on Immunisation (DTFI)  for ‘Routine Immunisation, Covid-19 vaccination, Har Ghar Dastak’ on Wednesday reviewed the flagship schemes under the health and family welfare department as part of the ‘good governance week and Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ celebrations.

Addressing the review meeting, DC KN Damo urged the health workers to create more public awareness on the importance of getting vaccinated. He advised them to visit houses and schools to create awareness on health and wellness, and vaccination. The DC also appreciated the efforts put in by the medical officers, ASHA workers and health care workers for their good achievement in routine immunization and  Covid-19 vaccination.

Speaking on Covid-19, he advised all to be cautious and to try to nip the problem in the bud before ‘it blows up into a huge third wave of the pandemic.’ He asked everyone to follow Covid-19 SOPs, and the rules and guidelines set by the government.

On the sustainable development goals (SDGs), the DC said, “We need to gear up and minimize the gap between our achievements and the SDG targets set for the state by the Niti Aayog.”

DMO Dr T Taki spoke on the ways to convince the people to overcome the hesitancy in taking the Covid-19 vaccination through multiple means.

DRCHO Dr Raju Mena gave the routine immunisation and Covid-19 vaccination status of the district, while DPO M Dirchi gave a presentation on SDG and the parameters related to the health department. (DIPRO)
