As per a report, the Miao-Vijaynagar road might miss the deadline of completion set by Chief Minister Pema Khandu. The 157-km-long road project, once completed, will change the landscape of remote Vijaynagar circle forever. At present, there is no proper road connectivity and people have to trek for days to reach Miao. However, the start of road construction has considerably reduced travel time. Chief Minister Pema Khandu during a visit to Vijaynagar announced to complete the MV road by 31 March, 2022.
Even though the deadline will be missed this year, his decision to set a deadline has definitely impacted the pace of the project. The work has gained momentum and the authorities are focused on trying to achieve the target. The local officials have said that by next year the road will be through if major bridges are constructed on time. As the CM himself is personally monitoring the project, it will be the focus of the authorities. This gives hope to the people. Vijaynagar, along with Tali in Kra Daadi, remains unconnected by road. The CM has prioritised providing road connectivity to these two unconnected circle headquarters.
