ITANAGAR, 20 May: The body of a 35-year-old woman, identified as Kusum Roy, who had been buried alive in the massive landslide that had occurred on Sunday evening in Yagamso Colony in D Sector here, was found on Friday.
Itanagar SDPO Kamdam Sikom, who supervised the search operation, informed that the body of the deceased was found at around 11:30 am by the search team.
“After medical formalities, the body was handed over to the family members for the last rites,” informed Sikom.
The district administration had launched an extensive search operation to locate the deceased’s body, using an excavator, since Monday morning. The search operation was carried out by the NDRF, the SDRF, and the capital police, supported by the local residents.
Two other people, identified as Taposh Roy Barman (15) and Nagin Barman (45) were also killed in the landslide along with the woman.
