Will nepotism and backdoor recruitment ever stop in the agriculture department?

Editor,
The question is obvious as there is a viral message circulating on various social media platforms for a few days.
I would like to highlight the discrepancies which happened during the recently conducted KVK recruitment by the state’s agriculture department. The advertisement for the posts of senior scientist and head, subject matter specialists, farm manager, programme assistant (lab technician) was dated 16 March, 2021, Order No AGRI/KVK (E)- 34/2018-19.
The selection of the candidates was done on the basis of an interview which was held from 25-30 August, and the results were declared on 4 September, Sunday.
Past recruitments have always been influenced by departmental links, political links, and money power, thus depriving the eligible and poor and middle-class candidates every time, as if we chose to be born there. We always thought that working hard would bring us on the merit list. The main grievance is that the ones whose names were not even shortlisted for the interview made it to the final list.
Also, there are many more candidates who are relatives of the department’s officers, and nepotism helped them reserve a seat. If this continues, where are we supposed to go? It always has happened in the past; this time, once again, and this process will surely go on in the near future. Also, on approaching, the department staff and officers are not ready to hear our grievances.
Now, don’t you all readers think this is foul play? Knowing the truth, how can we just sit idle? Can we break the chain? Can we really? It is a question to ponder.
Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere, said Martin Luther King. So, we aggrieved candidates would like the public to support the truth and give us justice by pressurising the agriculture department to reconduct the exam with multiple choice questions or equivalent in a fair and transparent manner.
