Fair inquiry needed in APPSC paper leak case

The decision of the state cabinet to seek the attention of the high court to set up a designated court exclusively for early hearing and efficient trial of the APPSC paper leak case is a good move. Besides, the cabinet also decided to initiate a departmental inquiry against the government servants involved in the scam, and the inquiry will be fast-tracked. The establishment of a designated court will definitely help in the early trial of the paper leak case. This case is very important and its outcome will have a huge impact on the future of the state.

Considering the fact that many people have been arrested and more are expected to be arrested in the coming days, the case definitely needs a designated court for the trial. The establishment of a designated court will help to speed up the process of trial. The decision of the state cabinet to initiate a departmental inquiry against the government servants involved in the scam has come a bit late. This should have been done at the beginning, when this scam was unearthed. One wonders whether it will serve the purpose at this juncture when investigation is being done by the SIC and the CBI. Nevertheless, if the cabinet thinks its departmental inquiry will help to punish those involved in the scam, then it is welcome. Hope the inquiry will be held in a fair manner.
