ZIRO, 11 Feb: The Ziro Valley Charity Mission Society (ZVCMS) organised free eye check-up camps for commercial truck drivers at various locations in Lower Subansiri district recently.
The camps were organised over a course of seven days at three locations, as per the work order assigned and sponsored by the union road transport & highways ministry.
The first camp was held near the Yazali police check gate from 4-7 February, while the second camp was conducted at the Yachuli check gate on 8 and 9 February. The third camp was organised at the Potin highway on 10 and 11 February.
“Around 100 truck drivers ferrying essential food and commercial items to Lower Subansiri, Kamle, Kra Daadi and Kurung Kumey districts were provided with free eye check-ups, and the cost of their spectacles reimbursed as per government provision,” informed ZVCMS chairman Rubu Tadii and Gyati Takka General Hospital ophthalmologist Dr Ngilyang Tajo.
