DC reviews progress of CCTV installation

LONGDING, 20 Apr: Longding DC Bani Lego on Thursday convened a meeting with members of the market committee and the owners of liquor outlets and pharmacies to take stock of the progress of CCTV installation as per the NCPCR’s annual action plan.

He asked the liquor outlet owners to refrain from selling alcohol to individuals below 18 years of age, and said that the liquor shop owners “must adhere to the rules and not sell alcohol above stipulated limits.”

He also directed the pharmacy owners to “refrain from selling H1 medicines without prescription issued by registered medical practitioners.”

Highlighting the illegal sale of alcohol in shops, restaurants, etc, without permit, the DC said that “stringent action will be taken as per the law if anyone is found violating the laws.”

He requested everyone to cooperate with the administration in keeping the children away from harmful substances like alcohol, gutka, pan masala, etc.

Illegal sale of petrol and diesel was also discussed during the meeting.

“The district administration will conduct surprise checking from time to time,” the DC said.

Among others, the DSP, administrative officers, the tax & excise superintendent, DCPU members, and members of the market committee attended the meeting. (DIPRO)
