PASIGHAT, 17 Nov: As many as 150 students participated in ‘literary competitions’ organised by Daying Ering Memorial Govt Higher Secondary School (DEMGHSS) here in East Siang district on 15 and 16 November, in the run-up to its golden jubilee celebration.
The event comprised essay writing competition, drawing competition, poem recitation, debate, and extempore speech competition for junior and senior categories. It was inaugurated by DEMGHSS Principal Lat Ratan.
“Before the main golden jubilee celebration on 2 and 3 December, the school is organising a series of events like marathon and arm wrestling competition, in collaboration with the East Siang District Arm Wrestling Association, on 18 November,” the organising committee’s chairman (publicity & souvenir) Boyem Jerang informed in a release.
“All the prominent alumni of the school from 1984 batches are backing the organising committee on a war footing manner to make the jubilee celebration a successful one,” the release said.
