YUPIA, 15 Apr: The police and the Papum Pare district administration on Monday took out a flag march in Doimukh town to instil confidence among the voters and to ensure that they can exercise their adult franchise without fear or intimidation in the upcoming simultaneous elections.
The flag march, led by Papum Pare DEO Jiken Bomjen and SP Taru Gusar, was staged from the Doimukh police station to RGU Tinali, Saturday Market, and Sopo village.
The DEO urged all the voters to “come forward and exercise your adult franchise without any fear.”
The SP informed that “all necessary security arrangements have been made to ensure a safe environment for voting.”
Appealing to the voters to maintain peace during the election process, Gusar warned that “anybody found trying to create law and order problems and disrupt the peaceful environment will be dealt with an ironhand.”
He further informed that there would be certain restrictions on vehicles’ movement on the poll day,and appealed to all to “cooperate for successful completion of the simultaneous elections.” (DIPRO)
