PASIGHAT, 28 Jul: Sports & Youth Affairs Minister Kento Jini urged the East Siang District Olympic Association (DOA) to identify and nurture young sports talents.
Chairing a consultative meeting organised by the DOA here in East Siang district on Sunday, the minister said that the state government has formulated the new sports policy with the focus on tapping the potentials of the youth.
“We must focus on youth power as the state government has declared 2024-’25 as the Year of the Youth,” Jini said.
Arunachal Olympic Association secretary-general Bamang Tago urged sports bodies to get affiliated with the DOA “for streamlining and smooth conduct of sports competitions at all levels, including district, state and national.”
DOA president Tamat Gamoh and District Sports Officer Y Sitek, among others, attended the meeting. (DIPRO)
