NIRJULI, 28 Jul: As many as 107 runners participated in a 5-km ‘Red Run Marathon’, organised by the NSS cell of the NERIST, in collaboration with the Arunodaya University (AU), on the jogging circuit in the NERIST campus here on Sunday.
The marathon was conducted under the aegis of the Red Ribbon Club, and was supported by the Arunachal Pradesh State AIDS Control Society (APSACS).
“The participants were earlier provided with technical and motivational insights into the spread and check of HIV/AIDS, and were apprised of the misconceptions and new knowledge gained in the field of AIDS control by AU registrar Prof Pramod Shinde, APSACS project director Dr M Basar, APSACS joint director Dr Tashor Pali, and NERIST Director Prof Narendranath S,” the AU informed in a release.
The event concluded with the announcement of winners and distribution of certificates. Three winners each from the NERIST and the AU will participate in the state-level Red Run Marathon, to be conducted in the coming months, it said.
