ITANAGAR, 29 Jul: The students of KV, Tenga Valley showcased their athletic prowess by winning 23 medals, including nine gold, eight silver and six bronze medals in various track & field events in the 53rd Regional Sports Meet, Tinsukia Region organized by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan at KV Dinjan, Assam recently.
The events included long jump, 80M hurdle, 200M, 400M and relay races.
Besides athletics, the school participated in football, volleyball, taekwondo and air rifle shooting held in different parts of Assam’s Tinsukia region.
The school also won the U-17 football competition, while it secured the silver medal in
the volleyball competition.
It is pertinent to mention that the school won all the six football matches they had played.
Ten students from the school, including three girls and seven boys, also competed in taekwondo, and won five gold medals, one silver medal and two bronze medals.
Three girl students from the school also competed in the Open Sight Air Rifle Shooting competition at KV Miao in Changlang district.
Akriti Mathur won a bronze medal in the U-17 category, while Janey Tamang and Laxmi Chetry won the first and second positions, respectively in the U-14 category.
A total of 46 students from the school participated in the sports meet.
