Editor,
With the release of the exam calendar by the APPSC on August 5, 2024, aspirants who have been subjected to prolonged emotional fatigue found little room for relaxation. Indeed, it has ignited a new level of passion and enthusiasm among restless aspirants across the state who have been eagerly waiting to face various competitive exams. However, as a member of the aspirant community, I would like to remind the honorable commission that conducting exams for lower posts before concluding exams for higher posts tends to incur both resource and time losses for the commission. Most aspirants aim for higher posts, and there is a general tendency for candidates selected for higher posts to abandon lower ones.
The Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) has addressed this phenomenon by arranging exam calendars to finish exams for higher posts before those for lower ones. For example, Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exams are conducted before Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) and Combined Secondary Level (CSLE) exams. Following this trend is both commission- and aspirant-friendly, as it helps the commission save time and resources (if an aspirant selected for a superior post leaves an inferior one) and allows aspirants to cover the syllabus more effectively (as preparing for higher exams naturally overlaps with the syllabus for lower ones especially, in teaching exams).
In light of this, I must emphasize that exams for PGT should be concluded before those for TGT. The possibility of candidates deserting TGT positions once selected for PGT is high, leading to vacancies once again.
Therefore, I respectfully request the honorable commission to revisit the exam calendar and consider the gravity of this matter.
An Aspirant
