ZIRO, 27 Aug: Fisheries Secretary Hage Tari inspected the integrated aqua park in Tarin here in Lower Subansiri district on Tuesday.
The project, spread over several hectares, is a first of its kind in the country, and is being executed by the fisheries department in collaboration with the hydropower department and the Hyderabad(Telengana)-based National Fisheries Development Board.
“The integrated aqua park is not only going to attract tourist flow but also generate revenues for the government, apart from producing abundant exotic fishes,” the fisheries department said in a release.
The attractive facilities under the project include an ornamental fish aquarium, a fisheries training centre for skill development, fish ponds, fish feeding products, fish hatcheries, brood bank, etc.
The park is expected to be inaugurated soon.
Tari was accompanied by former minister Tage Taki, Fisheries Director Joyshil Taba, Hydropower EE Lod Naku, and other officials during the visit.
