SOEK rejects allegation

PASIGHAT, 28 Aug: The Sinung Olung Erang Kebang (SOEK) has rejected the allegation of Magria Multi Purpose Cooperative Society that one D.K Sinung has fraudulently obtained Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribes certificate.

The SOEK termed the allegation as concocted and defamatory.

While issuing a clarification on the matter, the SOEK stated, “Sinung is the progenitor and common father of Nupang (Panyang, Panggeng, Padun, Tagi Taruk), Nutir (Patir), Nupum (Apum), Nusar (Messar, Pame, Jomyang, Pabi, Paser), Numi and Nulo respectively.”

It stated that the SOEK in its 6th general conference at Ngorlung village in 2008 has adopted a resolution to suffix the surname ‘Sinung’ after the name and, accordingly all SOEK members do the same.

As such, D.K Sinung putting the surname ‘Sinung’ after his name is in compliance of the resolution taken by SOEK in its conference at Ngorlung and the SOEK does not find any ulterior motive behind the taking of surname ‘Sinung’ after his name that too, by going through proper legal procedure of filing affidavit in the court, the SEOK said.

It further clarified that D.K Sinung is a bonafide AP scheduled tribe man and a permanent resident of Oyan village in Oyan-Sille circle of East Siang district.

“As such the ST certificate issued to D.K Sinung by the East Siang district administration is genuine and justified,” the SOEK claimed.

“In case of any doubt his antecedent and family dossier may also be cross-checked through competent authority/agency,” it added.
