Editor,
I would like to draw your attention to a significant issue that the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has been overlooking. While it may seem trivial to the commission, the restriction on calculator usage for engineering exams is a major concern for unemployed engineers, especially those in their late 30s.
Calculators are allowed in AE and JE exams because numerical questions cannot be solved without their use, but they are prohibited in other exams like legal metrology or any Group A or B exams where engineers are eligible. This disparity is particularly perplexing for electrical engineers.
To ensure a fair and equitable examination process, the APPSC should either provide calculators for all relevant exams or eliminate numerical questions that require their use. As we know, opportunities in the electrical field are becoming increasingly rare, making each one highly valuable. We cannot afford to miss out on any due to unfair treatment or bias.
This issue is critical for those of us who wish to compete fairly in these exams.
