LONGDING, 6 Dec: The Longding Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), in collaboration with the youth affairs directorate and the government higher secondary school (GHSS), Longding, conducted a district-level Yuva Utsav at the GHSS premises here in Longding district last Saturday.
A science mela, young writers’ contest, young artists’contest, photography contest, declamation contest and cultural group dance competition were the key components of the Yuva Utsav, designed to foster creativity and talent among the youths.
District Sports Officer (DSO) Ahua Wangsu in his address commended the efforts of the NYK in organising a comprehensive event, which offered opportunities to young minds to showcase their diverse talents.
Earlier, NYK district youth officer Mohit Nehra gave an overview of the Yuva Utsav.
More than 300 participants from six schools of the district took part in the competitions. The winners of each event were awarded trophies, certificates, and prize money, recognising their exceptional skills and achievements.
The winners will now represent Longding district at the state-level Yuva Utsav, scheduled to take place in Itanagar in the third week of December.
Among others, GHSS Principal E Rumi and National Teacher’s Award winner Jyoti Panka attended the Yuva Utsav here.
