APAKA karatekas win 11 medals in KIO All India Sub-Jr National Karate Championship

ITANAGAR, 14 Dec: Arunachal Pradesh Amateur Karate-Do Association (APAKA) players have won a total of 11 medals, including 5 gold, 3 silver and as many bronze, in the ongoing KIO All India Sub-Junior National Karate Championship, 2024 at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi, on Saturday.

Yaliangso Romat, Likha Hwkw, Durem Chetri, Ato Liso Singhi and Piter Nampe won a gold medal each in their respective age and weight categories. All of them won their medals in individual kumite.

Romat won his medal in the boys’ (12 yrs) below 50 kg category, while Hwkw won in the boys’ (12 yrs) +50 kg category.

Chetri bagged his medal in the boys’ (11 yrs) +40 kg category and Singhi in the boys’ (9 yrs) below 35 kg category.

Nampe won in the boys’ (9 yrs) below 25 kg category.

The silver medal winners were Tasing Nilling, Topo Nito Bula and Deengso Boo.

Nilling won in the boys’ (8 yrs) individual kumite in the below 30 kg category, while Bula won in boys’ [9 yrs) individual kumite in the below 30 kg category. Boo won in the boys’ (10 yrs) individual kumite in the below 30 kg category.

Tasing Nilling and Himangshu Borah won a bronze medal each in the boys’ 8 years and 12 years individual kata, respectively.

Sunday Sangdo won a bronze in the boys’ (11 yrs) individual kumite in the below 45 kg category.
