National Energy Conservation Day celebrated

TEZU, 14 Dec: The Tezu division of the Arunachal Pradesh Energy Development Agency (APEDA), in collaboration with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), organised a bicycle race for school students here in Lohit district on Saturday, on the occasion of the National Energy Conservation Day celebration.

Students from various schools of Tezu participated in the race, with police security and a medical team on standby for safety.

The top three winners were awarded cash prizes, medals, and certificates, while all participants received certificates of participation.

Earlier, District Information & Public Relations Officer Nyatum Doke, along with Tezu Division APEDA Deputy Director ZT Sorang flagged off the bicycle race.

Doke emphasised the critical importance of energy conservation in combating climate change. He encouraged students to educate their families and communities about energy-saving practices and promote environmental responsibility.

Commending the APEDA for organising the event, Doke expressed hope that the agency would take more initiatives in the future to raise awareness among young people about energy conservation and environmental sustainability.

Sorang highlighted the objectives of the National Energy Conservation Day, urging students to adopt energy-efficient appliances and environment-friendly habits in their daily lives. (DIPRO)
