On Sunday night, the APPSC declared the preliminary results of the APPSCCE (P)-2024 held on 15 December, in a record time of seven days, thereby shortlisting 1,658 candidates. This move is a confidence booster among the exam takers.
Congratulations to all those who have cleared the preliminary stage. Hard work and consistency does pay off. However, there is yet a long way to go. Stay focused and motivated.
To those aspirants who could not make the cut this time, do not lose sight and your heart. Rather, take some time off and reflect upon the grey areas and emphasise on filling the voids for the next one. Exams are war-like; you win some and you lose some. Persistence is what sets you apart from the rest. This is the time to immerse yourself in positivity. Even the word fail connotes to “first attempt in learning’. It is important that one experiences failure at least once in their lifetime, for failure is the biggest teacher of one’s life.
To the APPSC, your constant efforts in rebuilding the image of the APPSC are closely watched, monitored and highly appreciated at this point. Only an absolutely free, fair, transparent, efficient, effective and meritocratic system can bring back the lost faith in the APPSC.
Two requests for the energised APPSC: Kindly ensure that there is no procedural lapse this time, and that you adhere to the minimum gap period rule in between subsequent stages of examination, unlike this time during prelims.
Furthermore, advance research and consultation should be made with RGU with regard to its semester examination timeline, so that the APPSCCE Mains examination does not happen simultaneously with RGU examinations.
The new annual examination calendar for 2025 should be published at the earliest, and the APPSCCE should be made a calendar exam, to be conducted annually even if the number of posts is minimal, just like the UPSC.
In order to build a robust APPSC, it has to be a collective effort. While the public and watchdogs of society keep a close watch on the conduct of the new APPSC, equally keen eyes must be there to thwart any attempt from outside that could affect or influence the outcome of the recruitment results of the APPSC examinations in the near future. Any reasonable doubt must be whistle-blown, so that we do not have to undergo the nightmare of the APPSC paper leak scam all over again.
To the student organisations and concerned citizens: This is the time to ensure that the long pending demand of PRC is implemented for every examination to be conducted by the APPSC from 2025 onwards. The PRC committee report which has gone missing mysteriously must be found and a strict demand should be made to the GoAP to implement the same. In other words, the PRC of Arunachal Pradesh must be prescribed as a prerequisite criterion for any subsequent new examination conducted by the APPSC from 2025 onwards.
