Editor,

I, along with other aspirants, humbly request the APPSC to consider applying moderation for the optional papers in the upcoming APPSCCE (mains), which is scheduled to be held this December.

Many aspirants are disheartened by the previous year’s results due to the disproportionate marking scheme. In one optional, toppers are scoring in the 230s, while in other optionals, toppers are scoring as high as 370-380. This uneven marking is affecting the prospects of many serious aspirants who are dedicating themselves solely to this examination.

This year, we do not know which optional will be at the mercy of the examiner. Hence, applying moderation could limit this variability and provide a level playing field for everyone.
